Saturday 19th October
We are cooking 'Mallorca' with live Spanish Music
Having visited Mallorca many many times over the past 10 years it is a destination very close to our hearts and a place where we have made some special friends. We bring you our interpretation of a Mallorcan menu over 5 courses of small plates
Course 1 - Tortilla de Patata
Traditionally potato, onion & egg, this was our go to lunch on the island. Having been taught how to make it by a local Spanish lady we have modified to include, peppers, chorizo & smoked paprika

Course 2 - Pa amb oil i tomatiga
This is the most well known dish on the island on all menus as Mallorcan bread. It is simply toast bread with oil, salt, garlic & tomato but we have elevated it by topping the toast with Sobrasada a pork, paprika & spices paste & served with a heritage tomato salad

Course 3 - The Ivy Paella Ball
Paella although originally from Valencia it is on all menus in Mallorca. For us paella has a special place in our hearts as we would eat it at the Jolly Roger pub on a Sunday for Rock Around the Pool. We would be joined by Ivy, a dear friend who we met in Mallorca and is sadly no longer with us, so this dish of a paella ball on a saffron sauce is dedicated to her

Course 4 - Pork and Tumbet
Tumbet is a traditional vegetable dish consisting of potatoes, aubergine, red peppers & tomato. It is available at nearly every local restaurant on the island. Often served on its own but we are serving with slow cooked belly pork as our nod to the suckling pig served in Mallorca.

Course 5 - St Clements Flan
Oranges and lemons are available all over Mallorca and the traditional dessert is an orange flan with a caramel topping. Our version is made with freshly squeezed oranges, fruit compote poached in sangria and an almond biscuit our nod to all the almond trees and our favourite drink
